A runoff election happens when no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote. This year, none of the mayoral candidates reached the required majority, leading to a December 2nd runoff between the top two: James Solomon and Jim McGreevy.
Election night unfolded inside Mana Contemporary, a well-known arts institution in Jersey City (our studios there too!). The event was crowded, emotional, and historic; a turning point for the city as residents gathered to witness a major leadership transition.
This short film documents:
how the night felt from inside the room
community voices reacting to the results
remarks from James Solomon about his vision
the energy of a city choosing a new direction
3R captures these moments to help preserve the stories, people, and cultural shifts that define Jersey City.
