New Jersey-based Latin indie pop artist Lawd Ito expresses the rich colors, rhythms, and the soul of his Afro-Boricua roots through his music. As a bilingual singer-songwriter and producer, Ito experiments with diverse Latin styles and fuses them with contemporary R&B, Pop and hip-hop. By evolving these idioms and exploring romance, heartbreak, mental health, and celebration as central themes, Lawd Ito creates his very own eclectic, vibrant, and forward-thinking brand of Latin pop.
Recently, Lawd Ito placed in the top 50 nationwide for NPR music’s 2025 Tiny Desk contest. His Puerto Rican Bomba rendition of his song “Aguanile”, became recognized as one of the top shelf submissions for the Tiny Desk contest making him the only Puerto Rican artist based in NJ to accomplish this in 2025.
